Yoeri grew up on a biodynamic farm helping his parents in the fields from a young age. His lifelong enthusiasm for gardening has led him to continuously grow his own food in several communal in Rotterdam over the past decade. He has also served as a Nutstuin board member since 2020, and lead several community-led projects in gardens around the city with GroenGoed Rotterdam.

Yoeri’s knowledge and experience in gardening, together with his interest in the cultural histories and ecosystems, have resulted in an array of ecological projects and often in the creation of gardens that act as a vessel and as an entrance to marginal (hi)stories and nonwestern epistemologies.

As part of Yoeri Guépin’s residency at iii, he will facilitate the collective creation of a community garden at the iii workspace. This garden will be created using plant-related stories, seeds, recipes and memories collected from the neighbourhood surrounding Willem Dreespark.

Those working and living in and around the building, and those who are just interested in learning about gardening are invited to be part of this process.
