“Artificial Ecosystem” is a new work by Yolanda Uriz that continues the trajectory of her previous project “Chemical Ecosystem”. It will premiere at FemKultur Festival, an interdisciplinary festival that vindicates the presence of women in contemporary artistic creation.

The work presents the progression of fragrances from various artificial ecosystems in different future scenarios. It is an installation that reflects on possible present day actions to be taken to address climate change. It converts the composition of the air into sound data; the element that caries sounds, scents and we share through breathing. Our presence and actions are agents that alter the conditions of these artificial ecosystems.

The exhibition will run from the 14 to 24 of March, and includes a round table with other participant artists on the 14th as well as a workshop on olfactory art on the 23rd March.
