More about ONSbank HERE
As part of the ONSbank program, Yun Lee will be giving a workshop titled “BodyScores- score-making for non-musicians”
About the workshop
In music, a score is a sheet of music written down by composers for musicians to read and perform from. In the broadest sense, a score is a form of organizing thoughts, of communicating instructions, and of archiving ideas. This workshop will look at how to read and make different kinds of scores (using graphic systems, text, audio, video) which can then be used to create performances, to tell your story, or to express certain thoughts and feelings.
Instead of musical instruments, we will focus on using small gestures, isolated parts of the body, and the voice. Participants will experiment with writing for themselves and for each other. We will start off with movement and writing warm ups and exercises, gradually working up to creating longer pieces. The workshop will end in a presentation of scores and resulting performances.
No previous experience in performance, composition/choreography or any form of score-making is required. Participants must be willing to perform in some way.
