The Meta-Motion edition of Flipchart searches for new ways of communicating. Everything is moving at a certain speed, but how fast are we humans accepting? This episode wants to explore how we not only listen with our ears, but with our whole body – through what some consider as our sixth sense: proprioception. The body as a sensor is an approach that this Flipchart wants you to experience. The performances in this edition try to stimulate precisely, instead of overstimulate, indicate instead of confuse, surprise instead of scare.

Lineup:
Jakob Köchert
Jeroen Alexander Meijer
Christine Hvidt Grønborg

Jakob Köchert
Jakob Köchert is an architect, thinker and maker. He likes to explore, create and modify spaces to enrich personal experiences. In his transdisciplinary practice themes like: collective intelligence, empathy, embodiment and collaborative making are most mentioned. He is also a producer and DJ with various gigs nationally and internationally. With his homebase in Berlin he is entangled with the electronic music scene, as well as the architecture – Floating University – scene. For Flipchart he wants to create a room in which the pace of time will flow differently.

Jeroen Alexander Meijer
Jeroen Alexander Meijer is an interdisciplinary light and sound artist who navigates psychology, philosophy and cognitive science to create interactive experiences that help us become aware of the mysterious properties of our attention.
His fascination with the topic begins with his own attention deficit disorder facing the hyperdistracting world of today. By practicing the ancient technique of Vipasssana meditation he regained awareness over the subtle and immeasurable power of the mind, inspiring the objective of his work to help audiences all over the world get into similar meditative states and bend their attention back on itself. He achieves this by composing immersive multi-sensory installations that focus deeply on inner perception, with the goal of creating a profound sense of how our inner realms intimately influence our outer worlds.

Christine Hvidt
Christine Hvidt is a multidisciplinary artist and researcher vibrating in the field of artscience. Christine explores situations that establish a closer intimacy with other forms of life, that we in our human shaped worlds and habits have become so distanced to. With a fascination for systems thinking and ecology, her practice unfolds through computational organisms, sonic attention and the situated bodies. Currently, Christine researches how symbiotic relations with and within the biological communities in the soil can be sensed by way of bodily listening practice and site specific sound installation.

World Experience Center
Post-club live act based in Berlin & Den Haag with a penchant for cinematic, heatseeking sounds that seem to conjur an imminent world of hypercapital dissolution.

Flipchart is an event series mixing lectures and performances, a cabinet of curiosities where transitions are fast but the pages are infinite. The series offers a stage for experiments in the field of Art, Science & Technology, where making meets thinking. Visitors are presented with a snapshot on the creative process of artists and researchers within and around iii’s community.

This program is supported by the Municipality of The Hague and the Creative Industries Fund NL
