Jeanine Verloop creates kinetic and multimedia installations using fragile materials and experimental technologies. She works with scientific glassblowing and explores technology through vulnerability, malfunction and destruction and developed her work Chime during her residency at iii in 2024. Jeanine and Tetem are currently working together on a new production.
Her work invites the audience into alternative realities where technology and machines evolve through vulnerability, malfunction and destruction. Through her kinetic glass sculptures, Jeanine invites the audience to come into contact with technology and machines and to interact with them. She combines programming with scientific glassblowing, resulting in unexpected forms.
