Riccardo Marogna is a musician, improviser, composer, born in Verona (Italy), currently based in The Hague. His research is focused on the electro-acoustic scenario, looking for that point where the electronic manipulations and the acoustic sounds merge seamlessly in the continuum of the sonic gesture. As a musician he is active in many projects, playing a range of reed instruments combined with electronics. He has been a member of the Sound and Music Computing Group at the University of Padua, working on physically-based synthesis and multimodal interfaces. He is the author and co-author of a number of papers, published by JASA, IEEE, NIME, Biennale Musica, DAFX.
He holds a Master from the Institute of Sonology, Royal Conservatory in The Hague, a BD in Jazz Music and Improvisation by the Conservatory of Ferrara (IT), a MD in Electronic Engineering by University of Padua (IT). He is currently a Research Associate at the Institute of Sonology.
