International Research Residencies “Création Croisées”

The Hague – Montreal

Alexis Bellavance, Kunrad, Stephanie Castonguay, Yolanda Uriz

2022-2023

In order to support cooperation and international excellence in digital arts, iii and perte de signal are launching a new residency exchange program. Over the course of the next two years, two artists from the Montreal-based center will stay in The Hague and two artists from iii will reside at rustines_lab in Montreal. This partnership aims to foster independent creation, cultural diversity and the transmission of knowledge / skill-sets in the digital arts between the Netherlands and Quebec.

In Montreal and The Hague, artists are actively working in the digital field to develop, utilise and share their tools and devices of creation and performance, all the while reflecting on their shared engagement in international artistic practices and aesthetics. This program aims to support artists’ creative processes by making the necessary resources available for the realisation of a project. Lastly, these residency exchanges provide an opportunity for these artists to present installation or performance works in an international context (in Montreal and the Hague respectively).

perte de signal provides access to networks in the digital arts, both in Montreal and abroad. The Centre encourages research and creation, and it promotes both independent artists working in digital arts, and artistic approaches linked with technology.
