Joana Chicau and Jonathan Chaim Reus will perform as duo project Anatomies of Intelligence as part of the main exhibition of ISEA 2022 at arts center Santa Mònica. Their performance presents an intricate and intimate experience that centers around a demonstration/dissection of a single unsupervised learning algorithm, “K-means”. Inspired by the anatomical theatre of the early-Enlightenment, the performance unfolds in a unique setting whereby the two artists sit around a circular table with their laptops, sending javascript commands to a server which relays those commands to a bespoke audio-visual performance “theatre” based in the web browser that is accessible to a global audience during the performance.

ISEA, International Symposium on Electronic Art, is one of the most important annual events worldwide dedicated to the crossroads where art, design, science, technology and society meet. ISEA2022 Barcelona reunites artworks selected through an international open call by the ISEA Art Jury that represent a splendid sample of art, science and technology works such as installations, interactive works, bioart practices, online works, animation, video, audio, performances and screenings.
