New Interfaces for Musical Expression (NIME), is an international conference about new musical interfaces, their artistic use and the technologies involved in building them. Researchers from all over the world share their knowledge and late breaking work during the conference. The conference started as a workshop at the CHI conference in 2001 and, since then, has been held annually around the world.

Jonathan Reus will be be presenting a demo of a new voice AI instrument he has been working on for the last year. He will be showing his work-in-progress with an accepted research publication relating to his artistic work.

iii member and Treasurer Marije Baalman is a General Co-Chair of the conference and iii Education Assistant and previous iii artist in residence Myra-Ida van der Veen is one of the Workshop Chairs. Additionally Marije Baalman will be giving ‘A visual language for composing interactions’ on September 3rd from 10:00 – 18:00.

This years edition is organised by three institutions: Sounds Like Touch, Gaudeamus and HKU (University of the Arts Utrecht).
