Time Canvas 2022/Alter Futurum is a festival at the intersection between experimental music, artistic research, performance and art presented by ChampdAction and DE SINGEL.

In his modular installation La Floresta, Hans Beckers investigates the relationship between nature and technology, between man and nature. He creates visual sound instruments that are motorized and mechanically driven. The technology amplify the natural sounds. How do natural materials such as stones, sand, grains, seeds sound in relation to sound art? How can archaic instruments such as the bullroarer, membranophones, lithophones, rattles or rasps influence contemporary music? How do we experience nature and sound in this technological era?

Audiovisual artist and composer Marko Ciciliani is in charge of the artistic direction and for this edition he is creating a transmedia project in which he fillets the history of the electric guitar. The program also offers a mix of lectures, installations and performances by Marko Ciciliani, ChampdAction makers Ann Eysermans, Hans Beckers, Nico Couck (with creations by Marko Ciciliani & Eva Reiter) and guitarist Kobe Van Cauwenberghe (ZWERM) with music by Anthony Braxton. ChampdAction also invites some young makers who participated in ChampdAction.LAbO 2021. Through the theme ‘Alter Futurum’ they reflect on the question of how artists relate to their personal history and to history in general.
