What is fair practice? How can you use it in your work? How can you help create a fairer design and culture sector? And how does fair practice work in an international context? We will discuss these questions through a conversation with practitioners and cultural organisations, next to breakout sessions with fairPACCT.
The Fair Practice Code in the Netherlands is a moral compass for anyone working in or with the creative sector. We will reflect on its five values – solidarity, diversity, trust, sustainability and transparency – in our cultural practice.
15:30 | Conversation about fair practice with Marije Baalman (curator, activist and participant round table Digital Culture fairPACCT), Noud van de Rhee (programme manager fairPACCT), Yassine Salihine (product designer), Elena Polivtseva (independent researcher, co-founder Culture Policy Room) and Simon de Leeuw (programme maker, secretary EUNIC NL & Global Focal Point), moderated by Servaz van Berkum. |
16:30 | Break out sessions: Social Safety & Fair Pay/Fair Practice. Workshop by Marije Baalman. |
17:30 | Network drinks |
18:30 | End of programme |
This event coincides with our free Thursday evening. Enjoy free access to the exhibitions between 17.00-21.00 and a Thursday Night Detour at 19.00.
The International Clinics help Dutch-based designers to understand the opportunities, challenges and best practices of working abroad. The clinics take place every three months and are organised in partnership with DutchCulture, the Creative Industries Fund NL and the diplomatic network. They also help creatives to share their knowledge, experiences and networks in order to build meaningful collaborations.
