Small Museum presents the new work Vec4(red,green,blue,alpha) by Gabey Tjon a Tham. The project is a generative virtual environment based on the urban space around Paradiso that is influenced in real time by the weather conditions and the day and night cycles of physical reality. This place is characterized as the busiest square in Amsterdam, constantly in motion, where different agents appear, interact, disappear and make way for others. Within this urban dynamic the work integrates the digital dimension, which is an inseparable part of our daily lives in many visible and invisible ways.
By revealing elements that relate to how the computer perceives, draws and interweaves this virtual location with aspects from the physical environment, the work creates a possible new nature of which digital artefacts are a part.
